Defining Midwifery
Midwives have traditionally cared for families throughout their life cycle which include menarche, birth, menopause and even death. A midwife is recognized as a responsible and accountable professional who works in partnership with families to give the necessary support, care, and advice during pregnancy, labor and the postpartum period and provide care for the newborn/infant. This care includes the promotion of normal birth, preventative measures through prenatal care and continuous counseling, and the carrying out of emergency measures.
What makes The Counseling Midwife unique is that we provide emotional, spiritual and health counseling and education for the family and community, and not just the pregnant person. It involves antenatal education and preparation for parenthood and may extend to the person’s health, sexual or reproductive health, and child rearing. The Counseling Midwife is a family practice which encourages our community environment to foster life skills and experiences that will have impact generations to come for we are about family business no matter the makeup of that unit.
We offer personalized care which expounds on the unique and fluid patterns of each family’s health status and life cycle. So we seek to conduct thorough and continuous care in order to detect a complication at its inception as best as we can.
The Counseling Midwife art of service recognizes, responds to, and cooperates with nature in connection to her Haitian cultural beliefs while providing a humanistic and holistic midwifery model of care that will not risk the midwife’s own well-being nor the well-being of the families she serves.
Rate: $6500 (sliding scale for BIPOC familes in need)

Counseling
We offer non traditional counseling that seek to provide a humanistic and holistic model by creating and maintaining a safe space while walking besides individuals in discovering their own discovery, solutions, healing, restoration and self-mastery in life.
We provide counseling for pre-conception, postpartum, maternal life coaching, parenthood, stress management, anxiety, depression, grief & loss, and trauma.
Individual Counseling: 1 hour Cost: $35-75
Couple & Group Counseling: $85-100
